This allowed me to experience all aspects of both cultures from the very start of my life and acted as a driving force for eagerly wanting to be among people with different backgrounds, in order to learn and understand those. This was achieved to a large extent during my study years, as I always chose to attend international programs, but also when I myself became an expat when I decided to obtain my degree at Leiden University and move to the Netherlands. Here I worked with expats as a teacher at an International School, as a  psychologist at an Intercultural Mental Health Institution, and now as a psychologist at my own private practice. My background allows me to understand the challenges faced when living abroad, as well as the psychological processes involved when trying to accept and adjust to a new life.

I studied at a very multicultural university in the Netherlands, with nearly every student from a different part of the world. I believe this gave me an amazing opportunity to learn a great deal about psychology and counseling from a vast multicultural perspective. I then did my internship, which consisted of over 200 direct client hours with clients from all over the world. Thus, I feel skilled and prepared to meet the needs of the large expat community in the Netherlands.
