Clinical Specialties: I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC from state of Minnesota) and Nationally Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC).  I provide Intervention for a broad spectrum of states many of us find ourselves in during our life journey, including;  Grief & Loss, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD & Trauma and challenges that arise from changes in our health, relationships, residency and occupations. I hold a Post-Master’s Certificate in Adlerian Studies and have extensive experience working with trauma. I work with Adolescents, Adults and Couples
Cross-Cultural Experience: As of August 2015, I am back in Basel, Switzerland after having been six years back in the US. Previously, I have lived abroad for 10 years, in 3 different European countries, and have had an extended 6 month stay in Singapore. During the first 6 years I lived abroad, I worked as international IT Consultant in France and Denmark. My second move to Europe was after I earned an MS in Counseling and, as an accompanying spouse, I started up my own Private Counseling Practice in Basel, Switzerland that served the Expat community living in Basel. I understand the unique challenges Expats and Expat Families face while moving and living abroad and not only have I experienced some of them myself, I also have the therapeutic skills to help and support you and your family transition to a life abroad, cope with challenges while living abroad as well as the struggles that come up when moving back home again. Many times Expats are stuck between two worlds, lack an emotional support system and experience questions regarding their identity. Normal life obstacles can become magnified and this can lead to depression, anxiety and grief & loss when not addressed. If you are reading this website, you have made the first step toward finding support through your current life situation. Contact me to support you through your transition abroad, during challenges that come up while living abroad or upon repatriation your country of origin.

Wädenswil

Anette Kettenbach MA, LMFT (#MFC42215)
California Counseling
Location: Zurich, Wädenswil, and Zug, Switzerland, Singapore, & Worldwide Online
Phone: +41(0)76 778 98 70
Email: anette@calcounseling.com
Website: www.calcounseling.com
Nationality: German
Languages Spoken: fluent in German & English, poorly in Dutch
Religious Affiliation: Christian, Welcome clients from all Religions
Clinical Specialties: I hold my MA Degree in Clinical Psychology from California and I’m Licensed as a Marriage Family Therapist. I work with children, adolescents, individual adults, couples, families and groups. Here are some examples what kind of clientele I work with; clients with depression, bereavement, grief & loss, miscarriage, divorce, different anxiety difficulties, panic attacks, trauma, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, self-esteem issues, parent/child difficulties, parent education, couples difficulties & other relationship problems, family systems struggles, life transition, relocation & expat difficulties etc…
Cross-Cultural Experience: I was born and raised in Germany and moved to California at age 22. In the USA, I inquired my education to become a clinical psychologist and licensed marriage family therapist. In May 2006 I moved to Singapore and opened my private practice/company called California Counseling Pte Ltd. and worked there as a clinician and director. In October 2013, I moved back to Europe and kept my company in Singapore. I continued to see former and new clients worldwide on line via Skype or VSee and I opened a new branch in the Netherlands offering face to face services there as well. A colleague of mine is momentarily still running the Singapore office. In October 2015 I moved my private practice from the Netherlands to Switzerland. Since November 2015, I have been providing “in person” psychological services in Zurich, Wadenswil & Zug and I’m continually giving online services via Skype and VSee. Since I have been an expat myself for many years, I know what it feels like to move around, starting all over. It is normal for expat families to face many challenges once the first excitement of being in a new place has worn off. A person might feel dull or empty, sad, out of place, frustrated, angry, lonely or indifferent and does not understand what is wrong or how to find his way back of feeling content and happy as he used to be. In case you find yourself in such a place and you can’t put your finger on why you or a family member feels like this since your relocation, I do understand your struggles and can help to figure out which part of your internal world you have neglected and walk beside you to get back on track again.
