Dr Louise Hansen

Hello there, I am Dr Louise Hansen and from Cairns, Queensland, Australia. I am 38 years old and I have 20 years experience in Psychology. I am a registered Psychologist and I also have a PhD in Psychology.

My passion is to help people to experience safety, truth, freedom, health and wellbeing. I have taught Psychology to children at school and to adults at university. I have also provided counselling to a range of people of all ages and different backgrounds with simple or complex needs.

My approach is person centered, strength based and trauma informed in a culturally safe way. I share Trauma Informed Care openly for survival and wellbeing. This includes drawing on a range of life’s protectors such as the body, mind, social connection, culture, country and spirituality.

I also share a range of trauma informed tools that help us to establish a sense of safety and stabilisation, to enhance our perception of reality, and to learn to regulate our emotions. This results in a sense of stability, clarity, connection and belonging. I also have a lived experience of recovering from trauma. This has made me genuinely down to earth, compassionate, passionate, pragmatic, optimistic and hopeful.
