- Profile
At House of Tao, we use the ancient philosophy of Yin and Yang and the cultivation of Qi, the life energy, to create harmony in our mind and body. Our therapy is also has a Yin and Yang side to it: Yin is realized through Qi Gong exercises that are more directed at the body. You will learn daily routines in which you will activate meridians and energy points of the body, either through self-massage, tapping or moving. These daily exercises will help coping with fear, worries, anger, sadness and stress in general. The Yang is realized through the study and consultation of the oldest Chinese book (est. 3000 years old!) called I Ching (or Yi Jing) – “the Book of Changes”. This ancient work of wisdom and symbols invented the philosophy of Yin and Yang, and it has been used throughout many centuries by countless people, especially in times of crisis. Through Carl Jung, the famous psychologist, it has also found its way into the councilors practice as an invaluable aid to activate the unconscious mind through imagination. The I Ching and the correct use of it, is a powerful method to awaken our deeper mind and its healing capacities. Just like dreams, it shows us images and symbols that through their meaning can change our life for the better.
