Psychologist , Educator and Counsellor

I started my work experience as undergraduate student at my University, where I worked advising students in learning and coping strategies for first semesters at College. Once I completed my coursework I decided to do the internship in a school, in that position I led Preschooler Psychology area evaluation and organization creating learning and wellness experiences together with teachers and parents to understand children´s needs. I also
assessed students’ social skills, attention and emotional regulation, lead counseling and skill-building sessions.

Once I got the diploma I worked as Social counsellor in a wellness project where I designed and implemented workshops for prisoners at 3 of the principal jails in Cali- Colombia. After this valuable experience I started a job as a young researcher at my University, where I was in charge of carry on interviews with teachers and parents in public schools about reading and writing practices. After my Master´s degree studies in Education and Training, which I finished in Spain and Norway between 2010 and 2012 , I worked as Adjunct faculty, in Curriculum design, E-learning coordination and Counselling at three of the major Colombian universities. In that positions, I led curriculum reforms implementing competency-based models, materializing in Learning management systems (Blackboard, Moodle and Brightspace). I also designed workshops and training people in soft skills, assessed students’ social skills, attention and emotional regulation, lead counseling and skill-building sessions and work on schoolwide learning initiatives. In industry, I also got a wide experience coaching enterprise talent in soft skills and training managers to improve learning and teaching practices into the enterprise dynamic .

I feel naturally empathize with people driven by their personal and professional interests, and I am passionate about developing customized learning environments that foster their talent and their own cultural heritage. I count with a service-minded and a strong multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity. I consider I have a positive attitude with an understanding that priorities might change and flexibility is key in a dynamic world.
