As a black therapist, my focus is on women of color with trauma disorders.
People of color often don’t feel adequately represented in a white majority society, especially in the area of mental health. In a vulnerable life situation, it can be very challenging to open yourself up to a white therapist with sensitive and personally shameful issues that are often inextricably linked to your own ethnic and cultural origin.
I would like to close this gap. Many women find it a great relief when a therapist knows and can understand a significant part of their own reality as a woman of color.
My vision is to establish a safe space for these women where they can open up in a trust-building, stabilizing environment, share their story and then tell it
