Dr. Chiara Casonato – English-Speaking Psychologist and Psychotherapist in Rome

I am a registered psychologist and psychotherapist based in the Prati area of Rome, offering therapy in English and Italian for adults, children, teenagers and parents. I have particular experience working with expats, bilingual children and international families.

I support people experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, identity and belonging concerns, and major life transitions, including relocation and cultural adjustment. With children and parents, our work may also focus on emotional regulation, behavioural or school difficulties and parent-child relationships.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory, psychodynamic psychotherapy and trauma-informed care. Depending on each person’s needs, I may also integrate EMDR and body-oriented approaches.

Adults and parents can attend in person or online. Therapy with children is generally offered in person.
