I have long term experience in providing pastoral care and therapeutic support to individuals coming from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I have gained most of this experience in the U.K. where I lived for nearly two decades and worked in various Education and Mental Health Institutions. In 2019, I moved back to Italy, and since then I have been working in private practice as a Counselling Professional. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and of the Italian Association for Counselling. Currently, I am training as a Focusing Psychotherapist at The London Focusing Institute. My training is due to completion in 2021.
My therapeutic approach is existential and interpersonal, with elements of person-centred and focusing-oriented psychotherapy. In accordance with the codes of ethics and practice of my professional associations BACP/AssoCounseling, my modality of practice is based on the values and principles of the humanistic-existential approach: develop the inherent tendency towards autonomy, empowerment, freedom, meaning, personal growth and responsibility, while focusing on client’s subjective experience. It is a modality that aims at raising awareness on the relations we have with others and with ourselves, including the relation between emotions, mind and body. I offer face-to-face as well as telephone and online counselling to adults in Italian and/or in English.
