Practice Category: In-Person Therapy Practice
- Profile
This therapy practice focusses on adults, expats, couples and families, adolescents, groups, as well as provides training and workshops to organizations and companies. I work with a range of problems and difficulties you may be experiencing such as: Depression, Anxiety, Addiction, Stress and Burnout, Chronic Pain, Trauma, Adjustment difficulties, Marital and Relationship Issues, HIV, Bereavement and Loss, Eating Disorders, and ways to facilitate personal growth and improve self-esteem. My orientation or intervention strategy is predominantly Psychodynamic, however, I have experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), short-term therapy, Trauma therapy, Assessment, Systemic group work, and Mindfulness. The way to move forward will largely depend on the presenting problem and the path will be navigated together – a collaborative process between patient and therapist.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, I have spent several years as an expat myself, living in London, Japan, and now the Netherlands. Thus, on both a professional and personal level I understand the complexities and difficulties of living, adjusting, and settling in a foreign city. Growing up and working in South Africa, a diverse and multicultural environment, I am accustomed to working with people from all walks of life.
