Like many therapists, my own journey through grief, heartbreak, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, including relocation and starting over from scratch multiple times, has shaped my approach. As a British-American expat, I understand the particular challenges that come with uprooting your life, whether you’re preparing to leave your country, have recently made the move, or are somewhere in between. Whether you’re navigating a tough transition, processing trauma, or seeking clarity and growth, I’m here to provide a space for healing and positive change. I offer a 30-minute intro call on my client booking portal, at bookings.meghanfitzpatrick.com so we can chat and see if we’re a good fit for each other. All sessions are online, meaning our work together doesn’t have to stop if you move.
I work with adults of all ages who are navigating major life transitions, feeling stuck, or reassessing aspects of their work, relationships, or direction in life. Much of my work is with expats, or with individuals undergoing considerable amounts of change in one way or another. Clients often reach out at a point where they are feeling overwhelmed by change, emotional upheaval, or when something no longer works or feels right. They may feel restless, uncertain, lost, conflicted, or disconnected. Having lived and worked all around the world, I understand how destabilising major life changes can feel, particularly when they impact your sense of direction, stability, or belonging.
I work integratively and relationally, drawing on my training as a therapist alongside coaching tools where helpful. Sessions are client-led, by clients who are ready to engage honestly with themselves and explore the areas of their life that are no longer working. Some sessions may involve looking at past experiences and patterns that keep repeating. Others may focus more on what is happening now and the decisions in front of you. Some clients come with a specific transition or decision they want to address. Others bring broader questions about work, relationships, or identity. Therapy does not need to last years to be meaningful, nor does it need to be rushed. We decide together what approach fits your situation.
In personal and relational work, we explore your environment, habits, energy, and factors that may be affecting your relationships. In career-focused work, we look at what is no longer working, what genuinely interests or motivates you, and what realistic change might look like over time. We work towards helping you make considered decisions and take practical and prepared steps, rather than reacting impulsively or staying stuck in overthinking loops. We also explore patterns, boundaries, beliefs, and experiences that shape how you approach work and relationships, while paying attention to behaviour, responsibility, and forward movement.
All prospective clients begin with a free introductory call. This allows us to discuss what has brought you to therapy and to consider whether working together feels like a good fit. The call is confidential, and there is no obligation to proceed afterwards. Therapy with me begins with a six-week commitment. In the first full session, we clarify what you would like to focus on and agree on practical details, including boundaries and expectations. After the initial six sessions, we review how things are progressing and decide whether to continue, conclude, or adjust the focus. I also offer a single intro session at a discounted rate for individuals who would like to have a taster session and for those who have never had therapy before.
Alongside my clinical work, I also host the Career Congregation podcast, where I explore themes around work and life transitions. I look forward to connecting and helping you through whatever season you are navigating :)
