- Profile
Welcome! I am Dr. Cristi Salinas—a clinical neuropsychologist, former Harvard Medical School faculty, and dedicated coach. As a “BrainDocMama” to a twice-exceptional child while working full time as well as a former D1 athlete, I know firsthand what it means to balance high performance with daily life stressors or navigate a broken medical or educational system to advocate for my kid. I also grew up as a 2nd generation immigrant who often translated for my parent, lived between two and three languages and my blended family was composed of multiple cultural identities with geographical relocations during my childhood and early adult years that taught me to blend into different environments as a cultural chameleon. I recently relocated to another country of my parents’ origins. As a professional, I have been passionate about culture and psychology for over 20 years and I have worked with both children and families to support them in their lived experience of cultural identity, acculturation and I also have expertise in immigration evaluations. I also have training and experience in executive coaching. I combine cutting-edge brain science with heartfelt compassion to help you reach your full potential and positive change. I provide the same dedicated, high-level care I would expect for my own family. I am passionate about helping children, teens, adults, families, athletes, high-achieving professionals, and expats navigating neurodiversity, high-pressure environments, overcoming adversity, or life transitions.
What to Expect in Session
Coaching or Therapy with me is a collaborative, strengths-based partnership that honors your unique culture and background. We might use psychodynamic and insight-oriented therapies alongside family systems to look at the bigger picture of your life and relationships. From there, we get practical. Using CBT and mindfulness, we focus on how you think and learn, alongside holistic lifestyle habits (like sleep, exercise and nutrition) to manage daily stress and build coping skills. We may also use solution-focused goal setting to create lifestyle shifts. With parents/families, we may also use parent child interaction therapy interventions.
Just for Fun
To recharge, I enjoy being in nature, playing piano, cooking, and being cheerleader at my son’s weekend soccer (futbol) matches. - CredentialsDoctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, Psychology Licensure in FL, MA, CO, and PSYPACT
