I am an English Counselling Psychologist and integrative psychotherapist living and practicing in the Costa del Sol in Spain, where I work with individuals offering psychotherapeutic support with a wide range of issues. The sorts of things people may bring to me include, but is not limited to:
– family and relationships issues (such as family estrangement)
– difficulties living as an expat
– difficulties from childhood
– burnout or collages of a professional function
– life-stage events
– abuse and trauma/PTSD
– anxiety / panic attacks
– chronic illness
– bereavement and loss
– self-esteem and confidence issues
– mental health difficulties.
All of these reasons, and more, may bring a person to therapy. However, you do not have to be in crisis or on the verge of one, before choosing to seek psychotherapy. As a psychologist and practitioner, I take a multidisciplinary approach to psychotherapy by adapting and drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches to tailor how we work in a way that will be most beneficial to you as an individual.
I am from the UK originally, and I have previously lived in Geneva and then moved to Toulouse in France with my family and so, I have first-hand experience of the types of challenges faced when moving and living abroad.
My research interests are in the field of family estrangement which was the topic of my doctoral thesis.
