I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC from state of Minnesota) and Nationally Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). I provide intervention for a broad spectrum of states many of us find ourselves in during our life journey, including; Grief & Loss, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD & Trauma and challenges that arise from changes in our health, relationships, residency and occupations. In addition to my state license, I hold a Post-Master’s Certificate in Adlerian Studies, a certificate and many years experience in treating Sexual Assault & Sexual Abuse & Trauma and have over 15 years experience working with Adolescents, Adults and Couples. I am an EMDR provider and incorporate EMDR into my treatment plans when appropriate.
As of August 2015, I am back in Basel, Switzerland, after having been six years back in the US. I have lived abroad for 14 years, in 3 different European countries, and have had an extended 6 month stay in Singapore. During the first 6 years I lived abroad, I worked as international IT Consultant in France and Denmark. My second move to Europe was after I earned an MS in Counseling and, as an accompanying spouse, I started up my own Private Counseling Practice in Basel, Switzerland that served the Expat community living in Basel. I understand the unique challenges Expats and Expat Families face while moving and living abroad and not only have I experienced some of them myself, I also have the therapeutic skills to help you and your family transition to a life abroad. My professional license and experience as well as my life journey enable me to help you cope and manage challenges that you may have brought with you which may become exasperated with the move as well as new issues that may have arose while living abroad. I also work with clients with struggles that come up when moving back home.
Many times Expats are stuck between two worlds, lack an emotional support system and experience questions regarding their identity. Existing mental health issues and normal life obstacles can become magnified and this can lead to depression, anxiety and grief & loss when not addressed. If you are reading this website, you have made the first step toward finding support through your current life situation. Contact me for support through your mental health challenges, transition abroad, issues that arise while living abroad or upon repatriation your country of origin.
Insurance Details: US Global programs typically cover my fees as do some other international Global insurances. I do not guarantee coverage and clients submit my paid invoice to these programs for reimbursement.
