- Profile
I operate an Accredited Psychotherapy Service supporting all individuals who require mental health and wellbeing support. I utilise CBT and EMDR informed treatments, alongside mindfulness, self compassion based therapy and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).
I work with children, adolescents and adults who present with problems such as OCD, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Low self-esteem and many more conditions. I have a keen interest and experience in working with members of the LGBTQI community and currently work with this demographic within my NHS job role. I have previously worked with Kings College in an honoury role where I helped gather research around the mental health disparities among the LGBTQI community.
As a Psychotherapist I aim to help you develop your own skills and own tool box of strategies so that you are able to continue to manage and maintain a healthy wellbeing after our sessions come to an end. The treatment process for one episode of treatment can usually consist of between 6-20 sessions, after which clients can consolidate and utilise the tools and strategies taught in managing their wellbeing independently moving forward.
Both CBT and EMDR are now a well-established method of treatment which is evidenced based in assessing and treating a number of psychological problems. It is recommended by the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) as being one of the most effective treatments for emotional and psychological problems, where anxiety or depression is the main component. Both CBT and EMDR are considered to be highly effective for treating the following presentations:

Guilt and RuminationI am able to treat all of the above mentioned presenting difficulties within my therapeutic practice in Ivybridge, or via my Online service utilising video based sessions or telephone based sessions.
