- Profile
II’m a qualified psychotherapist who works with teenagers and adults, offering both short-term and long-term therapy options.
I provide therapy both online and from my office in Blackheath, South East London.
If you’re interested in learning more about my approach or therapy in general, please feel free to reach out, and we can arrange an informal conversation.
In 2008 I qualified as an Existential and Humanistic psychotherapist from the University of West London. Additionally I hold a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Psychosocial Studies and a Certificate in Bereavement Counselling. Over the years I have worked with various charities in the area of Children’s Rights and as a Psychotherapist.
My approach is primarily Existential; however it is informed by other therapeutic approaches such as Gestalt, Person Centred and Psychoanalysis.
The starting point of existential therapy is the experience of the client; this means that I focus on your unique experience of yourself and the world, and your meaning-making processes. Existential analysis is concerned with how we choose to approach the problems, dilemmas and experiences that we encounter. It helps us become aware of and change patterns in our lives and thinking that have become obstructive.
Existential psychotherapy is a relational approach, examining in detail our relationship patterns with ourselves (our bodies and lived experiences), others, and the world around us. The core objective of Existential Analysis is to elevate our awareness, enabling us to make informed decisions that lead to living an authentic life.
When appropriate I incorporate bodywork to facilitate trauma healing. Furthermore, I use inner child work to help clients become aware of their internal dialogues, understand their archetypes, and foster healthier self-relations.
I specialise in helping clients facing issues related to disordered eating, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Conduct and regularly attend Professional Development courses to refine and develop my skills as well as attending regular clinical supervision. - CredentialsMA, PgDip, BSc
