- Profile
The choice to start psychotherapy may come for a variety of reasons. Becoming aware of repeating patterns of behaviour, struggling in personal and professional relationships, coming to terms with a particular traumatic event, or with feelings of depression, lack of purpose and meaning. Ultimately, there will be a unique reason for each person. Whilst my work takes into account the influence of the past onto the present, it also places as much attention to the future and to the fact that in the present psychological suffering there may be the potential for a meaningful new direction. The focus of the work moves between the present and the past, the inner world and the outer reality, the aim being to become freer from the influence of the past and develop more manageable and authentic ways to relate to oneself and others.
I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, low self-worth and low self-esteem, relationship problems, sexuality, body image and identity issues, self-harming, eating disorders, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, career issues, midlife crisis, loss and bereavement, struggle with a lack of purpose and meaning. - CredentialsRaffaella Hilty (M.A. Phil.; Psych.) is a senior Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, an Analytical Psychologist and a Clinical Supervisor.
