- Profile
Life can be hard at times. It can be even harder to express why you feel in a certain way or, in fact how you feel. Things are beyond our control at times and we get thrown into situations, which can have a lasting impact on our wellbeing. Our ability to function can be limited and we struggle to express who we truly are. Sometimes, we do not even know what is wrong but yet we feel a certain way. I understand how overwhelming this can be as I have been there myself.
I’ve had my share of lived experience, as many of us do. I tried my best to cope with the ever growing stress and anxiety within me. I also tried putting in place changes to my life style, which helped to a certain extent thought it was short lived.
Therapy gave me a private space to understand what I had experienced and make sense of how it affected me, before beginning to rebuild my confidence and sense of self. Through therapy I also experienced the value and importance to having a safe space to speak openly without fear of being judged or needing to appear strong and resilient.
Using this experience, I completed my academic studies and professional training to qualify as a therapist . I currently work with adults and young adults.
My approach to therapy is centred around you, your personal story, and your lived experiences. I provide a compassionate, structured space where you can safely explore what you are going through, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to consider what meaningful change looks like for you. My role is to help you navigate the issues affecting you and to provide you the required support.
I work with people who are struggling to cope with depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, phobias, trauma, post traumatic stress (PTSD), bereavement, loss of identity, major life changes (incl. menopause), addiction, relationship difficulties, discrimination, women’s issues, men’s issues, workplace redundancy.
Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if you have not experienced it before. Finding a therapist with whom you feel able to talk openly matters deeply. Because successful therapy relies on a professional relationship built on trust and mutual respect, it is essential that you feel comfortable with the person you choose.
To help you decide if I am the right therapist for you, I offer a complimentary 30-minute initial session. There is absolutely no obligation to continue if you feel we aren’t the right match.
During the complimentary session we will also discuss what brought you to therapy, what you are hoping for and any questions or concerns you may have.
I provide therapy in-person and online. Please visit my website https://roomtobetherapy.com for more information. Please contact me for the initial complimentary session.
- CredentialsI am a qualified psychotherapist accredited with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I work with adults and young adults.
