I work primarily with humanitarian/development workers and other global nomads (diplomats, Third Culture Kids – business, military and business – as well as international students) based in Washington DC and around the world. I focus on stress and resilience, grief, loss, trauma and other adjustment related concerns resulting from transition and overwhelming work/life pressure. I have significant experience working with employees working in high threat countries from various organizations including USAID, Chemonics, Mercy Corps, United States Institute of Peace (USIP), AECOM, Internews and the US State Department, offering immediate support in the face of critical incidents, ongoing counseling support and facilitating regular debriefings upon return to the United States or when transitioning to a new post. I have facilitated numerous trainings and webinars on stress, resilience, compassion fatigue and returning home. My goal in all I do is to invite all those I work with into healthier relationships – both with themselves and those around them.
I also provide consultations and short-term resiliency-based counseling to individuals and couples through a contract with The Konterra Group. The mission of the Konterra Group is to improve the health and effectiveness of people working internationally — including media companies, international development NGOs and private sector contractors. Please check to see if your company has partnered with The KonTerra Group and provides these benefits.
I am an adult TCK who grew up in South East Asia, the UK and the US. I am licensed to practice in Washington DC, Washington State and North Carolina.
