Great to meet you!
My name is Shelly Mark Lewin, and I am deeply honored to be joining the team of international therapists. I have 30 years of experience working with individuals, groups, and families in a variety of settings including private practice, healthcare systems and private organizations. My work is informed by my own personal life experience with mental health challenges, and my goal is always to provide you with support and guidance during difficult times and on your healing journey. My professional career includes positions in renown healthcare organizations including Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Joint Commission in Chicago, Kaiser Permanente in California and Mount Sinai Health System In New York City. I have extensive experience working with multi-cultural and diverse populations providing individual and group therapy, case management and crisis intervention.A bit about my approach to therapy
I am genuinely interested in healing human pain and suffering. I want you to live your best life. It takes courage to change behaviors and thoughts you’ve lived with for a lifetime, but you can heal. Therapy does work and psychological treatments are backed by science, however it takes repeated efforts and practice to change. We will work together, and my job is to walk beside you to help you move yourself toward your goals and cultivate healthier thought patterns and behaviors. What you can expect from our first session
Your mental health including your psychological, emotional, and social well-being — has an impact on every aspect of your life. Positive mental health essentially allows you to effectively deal with life’s everyday challenges. My therapy style is tailored to the needs of an individual and my approach is holistic, spiritual, and integrative. Some of my areas of specialization include grief counseling, life transitions, treatment for mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, workplace issues, financial stress and money worries, addiction, relationship issues, obsessive thoughts and actions, sexuality and sexual identity issues and post-traumatic stress disorder.More about Shelly
