Are you feeling stuck or burned out? Are you ready to shift how you relate to painful thoughts and feelings so that you can decrease your suffering and have more time and energy to LIVE your life? Much of life is outside of our control and can make us feel lost, stuck, and overwhelmed. I can guide you in exploring these issues while helping you to identify and access your inner strengths and resources for healing and growth.
My approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness skills, strengths-based positive psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (DBT), and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (RO-DBT). As one myself, I have insight and understanding treating Global Nomads, Third Culture Kids, Expats, and people who deal with issues relating to frequent moves and relocations. Therapy goals can range from decreasing and managing mood symptoms, developing self-compassion and self-worth, increasing self-care, and building healthy relationships to improving overall wellbeing and quality of life and learning to live with mindfulness. I will help you get unstuck and find your flow!
I have always been fascinated with feelings and the various helpful and unhelpful ways that humans manage the joy, pain, and chaos that comes from dealing with emotions. I believe in practicing what I preach with a growth mindset. I am committed to my journey of accepting my feelings and acting on my values in order to nurture meaning, purpose, and vitality in my life. I have dual nationality with the United States and the United Kingdom and I lived internationally as a youth for 15 years, attending International or American schools in France, Scotland, England, Thailand, Malaysia, and Venezuela. I value diversity and inclusivity. I continue personal work to become more aware of my privilege and internalized racism and prejudices. I aim to provide a safe, welcoming space for all people regardless of race, ancestry (national origin) gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, religious or spiritual beliefs, age, disability, body size, etc.
