My philosophy is “treat others the way they prefer to be treated” with dignity and respect. Despite the stigma that still exists in our society today, I think we forget that we are all human. My treatment approach is a more Humanistic and Person-Centered.
My practice philosophy as I learned early on in my career is to treat others with compassion and show support. Treating others with dignity and respect as we walk this path together. I take the objective approach in listening to your story, then follow through with client centered goal setting, and make sure there is a standard base treatment plan to set you up for success.
I am Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained which can aid in trauma recovery for those clients that have PTSD. I mainly use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help treat mood/anxiety disorders & trauma- and stress-related disorders. Other approaches I may use are Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
